Cleland McIver Limited is committed to ensuring that all workers involved in the production and supply of any of its products, wherever they may be located, are treated with humanity and dignity and that there is no hidden labour exploitation.
Cleland McIver Limited acknowledges the provisions of the Modern Day Slavery Act 2015 and will ensure transparency within the company and with suppliers of goods and services to the company.
The Company is satisfied from its own due diligence processes there is no evidence of any act of modern day slavery or human trafficking or labour exploitation within the company and the supply chain.
Over the last 12 months the business has developed the management skills of the senior leadership team to facilitate the smooth transition of operating across 3 multi-disciplined sites
Cleland McIver Limited seeks business partners that strive to offer their workers, at the very least, basic human rights and in accordance with the Ethical Trading Initiative (ETI) Base Code and will not knowingly support or deal with any business involved in slavery or human trafficking. Cleland McIver is proud of the strength and longevity of the relationships that it has with a number of trusted key suppliers both in the UK and around the world. Some of our suppliers have supplied goods to Cleland McIver for over 20 years and we work together co-operatively and transparently to ensure that we continue to achieve our joint business aims. All of our key suppliers are audited by Verisio to allow for full transparency and compliance to the ETI and modern slavery compliance. This is managed through our inhouse Technical team.
Our values reflect our commitment to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure slavery and human trafficking is not taking place anywhere in our supply chains.
The Social and Ethical Compliance Policy applies to all of our suppliers, factories and any other manufacturing premises, whether as contractors or subcontractors, or in any other business capacity where products and goods are manufactured or produced for Cleland McIver Limited. Cleland McIver are audited by Verisio to allow for full supply chain transparency and modern slavery compliance. We are audited to the Sedex SMETA 2 Pillar assessment. We have communicated our Social and Ethical Compliance Policy to all of our suppliers and contractors.
We have attended presentations and training sessions provided by Stronger Together, Fast Forward and The Gangmasters and Labour Abuse Authority.
Posters and contact details are distributed throughout all three sites and all employees and agency workers are positively encouraged to report any suspicions or incidents of labour exploitation to senior management or use the Stronger Together or Fast Forward contact details for confidential helplines. We also provide all of this information as part of the on-board induction process for all employees whether contracted or seasonal workers.
We have reduced the number of labour providers we use and work closely with them to ensure transparency and compliance and that our policies and statements are communicated effectively.
To ensure a high level of understanding of the risks of modern slavery and human trafficking in our supply chains and our business, we continue to take steps to raise awareness amongst our suppliers, contractors and our employees.
This statement is made pursuant to section 54(1) of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and constitutes our slavery and human trafficking statement for the financial year ending 30th September 2022.
